Having commenced her vocal studies under the guidance of Rebecca Berg at Conservatorio di S. Cecilia in Rome at the age of just fifteen years old, Susanna Preziosa Latela’s concert career has seen her perform in some of the most famous concert halls in Italy and abroad.
Abroad she has performed in Deux Alpes, France, for Club Musicale Français, appearing as soprano soloist with the Roma Sinphonia Orchestra in Anton Bruckner’s Te Deum for soloists, choir and orchestra under the baton of Laura Simionato, and presenting a concert of some of the most famous chorales of J. S. Bach with the same conductor. This latter concert was also performed with Roma Ensemble Orchestra at the Holy See.
Between 1996 and 2000 she worked on a regular basis with M° Aprea in his conducting class at Conservatorio di S. Cecilia.
On New Year’s Eve 2000 she performed various arias by Verdi and Puccini at the Italian Institute in Budapest with Orchestra del Conservatorio di S. Cecilia.
In June 2000 she continued her work with Orchestra del Conservatorio di S. Cecilia with performances of Puccini’s La Boheme, to notable critical and public acclaim.
She also performed Vivaldi’s Te Deum for soloists, choir and orchestra with Mauro Bacherini.
In July 2003 she sang the role of the Badessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica at Teatro Stabile in Cologno Monzese (Mi), continuing the rest of the season in the title role of Suor Angelica.
In November 2003 she performed Rossini’s Barber of Seville with the National Orchestra of Romania conducted by Mauro Conti. These performance were extremely well received by both the press and the public.
As far as television work is concerned, she has worked for both Raisat and Tele Lazio and participated in Vivendo Parlando, a programme presented by Gigliola Cinquetti.
In June 2004 she participated in a series of master classes held by Mietta Sighele and Valeriano Lucchetti on interpretation and vocal technique as part of Musica Riva Festival. She also studied stagecraft with producer Renzo Giacchieri.
In 2004 she was awarded prize in the 2004 Riccardo Zandonai Singing Competition at Riva del Garda.
In the same year she awarded the Second prize in the Ottavio Ziino International Singing Competition held at Rome Auditorium: Parco della Musica.
She was also a finalist in the Iris Adami Corradetti International Singing Competition held in Padua. In December 2004, she performed Violetta Valery in Verdi’s La Traviata at the Roman Amphitheatre in Sezze Romano with the Roma Ensemble Orchestra and Chorus.
In April 2005 she reached the final of the
45° Voci Verdiane "Città di Busseto" International Singing Prize.
December 2005 she awarded the First Prize in the "XXXVI° Concorso Internazionale Vincenzo Bellni" at Caltanissetta, Sicily.
March 2006 she awarded the Third Prize in the “Concurs Internacional de Cant Jaume Aragall” at Sabadell - Barcellona (Espana).
Having perfected her technique with the Baritono Lino Puglisi, with the soprano Gabriella Tucci and with the Baritono M° Franco Iglesias, New York.
Her repertoire includes both opera and chamber music
